Machine Controls Programmer

The Applicant must have experience or aptitude in programming of various control systems, including PLC's, motion controls, and HMI's. Due to high demand, more than one position is available, and depending on your experience or aptitude, different positions or projects can be selected. The position requires coordination of his/her work with sales, and mechanical and electrical engineering, with some potential involvement with controls design. He/she will be involved in the programming, startup and testing of the machines on Glassline's factory floor. In some cases, it will also involve re-starting of the machine after installation at the Customer's facility.

  • Electrical Engineering degree, or associate degree in Electronic technology or similar is preferred.
  • One or two years PLC programming experience is required.
  • Experience in programming of servo motion systems is beneficial
  • Salary commensurate with experience and ability.

Customer Service Manager

The Customer Service Manager is challenged to ensure the retention of profitable Customers, by providing them value in the area of ‘machinery after-sales’ support. The CSM provides technical expertise and administrative leadership in order to deliver exceptional levels of customer satisfaction, while maintaining acceptable profit margins.

Essential Functions:

  • Build a Customer Service department which can sustain itself by service revenue. Generate revenue by selling service visits, such as for upgrades, rebuilds and preventative maintenance.
  • Build strong relationships with Customers. Proactively communicate with Customers to attempt to determine their needs, ahead of when they need them.
  • Work with the Sales Dept. on pricing of machinery installs in order to maximize the chances of obtaining machine sales while sustaining margins of the service department.
  • Work with after-market part sales and warehouse management to strive to provide lower turnaround timesMachining Experience preferred
  • Help other employees understand customer issues in order to resolve those issues, as well as look toward longer term problem resolution in order to continuously improve products.
  • Challenges team members in providing exceptional support to both external and internal Customers.
  • Helps the departmental team develop goals, action plans, and time tables. Reports departmental performance metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Focuses on helping team members improve their skills and knowledge through day-to-day coaching. Ensures an efficient training program is in place, which includes written
    documentation of competencies necessary to be successful at the job, classes and courses required for the job

    This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management of the employees within that department

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


    Travel is required to perform this job. The amount of travel is up to the CSM and his/her supervisor in order to serve to deliver exceptional levels of service.
    Primarily this travel will be in North America.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • At least 5 years of flat glass processing machinery experience and knowledge is required in order to understand Customers’ problems and needs.
      This experience can be in either maintenance or process related if the experience has provided significant machine and operational knowledge.
    • Associates degree minimum, Bachelors degree preferred.
    • Management experience helpful.

    Outside Machine Sales

    The primarily purpose of the Outside Machine Sales position is to execute sales strategy, initiate contact with existing and potential customers, identify needs and sell appropriate equipment to meet those needs. This is accomplished by building relationships with customers and potential customers. Extensive travel required. Salary plus commission. Car or car allowance.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in business management or related field
    • 2 years management experience
    • Machining Experience preferred
