Machine Controls Programmer

The Applicant must have experience or aptitude in programming of various control systems, including PLC's, motion controls, and HMI's. Due to high demand, more than one position is available, and depending on your experience or aptitude, different positions or projects can be selected. The position requires coordination of his/her work with sales, and mechanical and electrical engineering, with some potential involvement with controls design. He/she will be involved in the programming, startup and testing of the machines on Glassline's factory floor. In some cases, it will also involve re-starting of the machine after installation at the Customer's facility.

  • Electrical Engineering degree, or associate degree in Electronic technology or similar is preferred.
  • One or two years PLC programming experience is required.
  • Experience in programming of servo motion systems is beneficial
  • Salary commensurate with experience and ability.

Mechanical/Machine Designer

Perform Engineering duties related to the design of custom automated machines in the industries of glass fabrication, food processing, packaging, and potentially others. Match design criteria to specifications as well as marketing and sales goals. Use engineering and machine design fundamentals to ensure robustness of design. Use CAD system to design the assembly and details of the machine design, and/or possibly check the work of other designers. Design in coordination with Electrical Engineering. Enter Machine/job BOM into business system and ensure correctness. Release jobs to scheduling. Work with manufacturing to answer questions. Modify designs as needed for manufacturing changes, and/or design improvements. Potentially visit Customer sites to assist in generating quotes, taking field measurements, assisting with installations, etc.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum Technical Mechanical or Design degree. Bachelor's a plus.
  • 5+ design experience preferred.

Provides team members with the appropriate training, tools, direction and motivation to enable their success.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management or related field
  • 2 years management experience
  • Machining Experience preferred
